Is facebook a channel for boosting Brands? According to My little knowledge on Brand, I dont think so. A brand is an experience (emotional and practical) and a mere Facebook Community page on a brand is just another radio or Tv advert that consumers dont care about and that owners of the brand pays millions for. A facebook community does not increase any equity to a brand in fact it just might make it so typical. Maybe facebook can be used to introduce a product that consumers dont know about in which case you dont need a whole community page on it. but just a small ad. I can only figure out one opportunity on facebook at the moment. It can help companies know what consumers think about their brands. Just post a question or a statement and let them comment and by the end of the day you would have known where your weaknesses are and where the opportunity lies. Do you agree with me?
